Auto insurance company won't pay garage storage fee?

thank you so much for your help. I just found that another settlement document that my insurance company sent me about 2 weeks ago. On that paper, they did not deduct the $3000 for storage fee. About 2 weeks later, they decided to amend the settlement (of course, I wasn't informed!) and sent me the one with $3000 deduction. I guess they realized that they paid too much money to the garage and changed their mind and made me pay. I think I will talk to a lawyer who is a good friend of mine and see what he thinks. If he thinks it is better to have a lawyer on my side, I will go for it even though it will cost me at least $1000. I am very furious about how badly the insurance company treated me although I was their customer for more than 7 years with no accident and no tickets whatsoever! I really wish to speak up but no one is listening...so I might just gor for a lawyer Thank you all for your wonderful answers. I wish I can choose all as the best answers. thanks!!!

I'll do my best to summarize my situation, and am using estimates for days and amounts... I received a quote for auto insurance for $590 for a 6 month period from an independent auto agent. When I received my insurance policy and premium price it way nearly double (over $1,100). I cancelled the policy within a week after receiving the huge increase in premiums. Because of the time it took for me to receive my new premium and the 5-7 days for me to cancel, I received a bill for an amount due of roughly $40.00. I previously had auto insurance through the company/agent but it was for a different vehicle and paid a month in advance. My question is, why am I responsible, and how am I responsible for the premium that is so much higher than what I was quoted? I didn't sign any paperwork, I called over the phone and had the agent switch the policy based on the new quote. Auto insurance played a huge factor in budgeting for the vehicle and I feel that I was ripped off. A couple of weeks ago a lady ran a red light and hit my car. Her insurance company took a week to get me a rental and two weeks later finally go look at my car and determined a total loss. The adjustor was pretty rude about the whole situation (yes I know that's their job) and started in on how my car has extensive hail damage which is not true. There were some dents from hail on the hood and trunk lid but every used car in Oklahoma has hail damage since we have had several storms over the past few years. He said that they would have paid $5900 for the car but because of the hail damage they will only pay $1250 which is ridiculous. I've done my research and the average cost of my car within 200 miles is $6000 and I have received one estimate on repairing all of the damage was $2000 yet he claims it will cost $7000. The dealership I bought the car from just sold a vehicle just like mine with hail damage for $5000. The engine and everything else on the car was perfect. When I told him all of my info he laughed at me and said oh by the way we are only paying for your rental till the 9th so you need to settle quickly, take it or leave it so I said I was calling a lawyer. I'm waiting on the lawyer to call me back but I just want to know, what should I look for to help me. I've already looked at the market in my area and have record of the prices for the same make and model. I can't take it to a body shop because the car is crushed. Any info appreciated.

I was told my car value is only 800 and the excess is 600. I was told by my insurance company that this would be commercial because there is some risk I would have kids in the car. I called another company who told me it is just business. Hii, If i bought a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII do you think my insurance would be ridiculously high considering I'm 17. Would there be a huge difference in $ if: I was under my parents plan I was listed as a part time driver I have good grades ( I heard insurances give discounts for that) And If I took driving school. I know nobody here can give me an exact answer and your going to say ask you insurance agent but I would like to here some guesses!

i am 22 been driving for 2 years looking to buy a 1.0L corsa ls but struggling to to find cheap insurance. i tried all the comparison sites ie gocompare confused beatthemarket but still cant get below 1k yet my first car i had when i first passed my test was also a corsa but a 1.2l engine and only cost 600 to insure so need a good company as i cant work out why my insurance is going up rather then down even though i have no driving convictions or never had to claim. i never had a parking ticket lol.
